PIN Creation and Verification System

Product Description

PCVS™ is a database application for the generation and verification of PINs - Personal Identification Numbers. The application can generate PIN from 4 to 6 digits for a given card account number, generic account number, access number and any type of ID number that needs an accompanying PIN in order for the account number holder to be verified.

PCVS™ can also generate PIN Offset Numbers in case that the PIN owner needs to change his PIN. The PINs are stored in a database scheme encrypted under a series of encryption keys, from 2 to 6, using DES or Triple-DES as encryption algorithm.

Generation

PCVS™ generates PINs from 4 to 6 digits that pairs to a given number such as card account, generic account, access number and any type of ID number of a length from 4 digits up to 16 digits. The application can drive dot-matrix printers for printing the PINs to PIN mailing paper.

Verification

From the verification point of view any Microsoft Windows™ application can transfer the account number and the encrypted PIN to the application, using an shared library (dynamic link library - dll), with a ginen API, and PCVS™ will return back to the application if the pair is verified or not.

Applications

PCVS™ has been designed to work primary with FastNET™ - Terminal Management System for transaction authorization purposes but later has been implemented in Internet Banking and IVR - Phone Banking applications.
